Iran, Senegal, France joint production to compete at Locarno Filmfest

Iran, Senegal, France joint production ‘Land Lot S7’ is to compete at the Locarno filmfest.

The joint production of Iran, Senegal and France ‘Land Lot S7’ has been slated to vie at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

The short title, directed by Abtin Sarabi, will be screened at the Pardi di domain section of the 2020 edition of the event.

The 28-minute experimental documentary has been filmed in the northern borders of Senegal.

Sarabi’s second documentary narrates the problems and hardships the labors of that region face.

A lineup of 43 short and feature films, out of more than 2200 received titles, have been qualified for this section of the festival.

The Locarno Int’l Film Festival is an annual event which invites thousands of filmmakers and film fans to the city of Locarno in Switzerland.

This year, however, the festival cannot hold physically over the pandemic of coronavirus.

Therefore, it has launched an online event named Locarno 2020-For the Future of Films.

The announced date for the 73rd edition of the event is August 5-15, 2020.
